My boyfriend used to sing this song to me while we dragged main in his ‘57 Chevy back in the ‘60s.…and I’d try not to giggle. We celebrated our Golden Anniversary a few months ago. It was my 18th birthday, 1969, and he drove me in his ‘57 Chevy to a tiny Italian restaurant owned by a sweet elderly Italian couple. The epitome of old world charm. Dim lights, the scent of roasted garlic in the air, checkered tablecloths, a candle on every table (which consisted of empty wine bottles covered in assorted colored candle drippings), and Dean Martin crooning, “That’s Amore”. That was the night my boyfriend proposed marriage. I was speechless. I managed to whisper a weak, “are you …sure”? (Inside my head someone was screaming, “YOU’RE 18 FOR PETES SAKE!”). But of course I accepted (providing we wait until we’re at least 21). Smooth talker that he is, he eventually charmed me into agreeing to 20. And now here we are…celebrating #55. What a trip…

Back when bands were the whole package!! Choreography, great singing, and charisma. Not to mention the outfits were always immaculate and matching. Not many artist can make good music, dance, and NOT have a cuss or sexual word every other sentence. That's pure talent to have all these qualities in one. Must pay your respects to Motown 🙇🏽👐🏾
