Miss American Pie, Dolly Parton unfortunately passed away at 80.
My father died 40 minutes ago. My Oldest memory with him was dancing to this song, that was the happiest I remember him being. The smile on his face... In his later life it was very rare that you saw him smile. Fuck Cancer. Edit: I have been shadow banned from responding to comments under this comment, the reply button literally does not exist for me but it does exist when I look at other comments, even in the same comment section. According to an online search this occurs when the Youtube AI detects a comment as potentially spam and/or violation of community guidelines. However it's interesting not only that the YouTube AI detected my comment as spam 2 years after it was posted but also that I am still able to receive comments from people trying to taunt me for the death of my father. This one-sided behaviour from youtube implies that I've done something wrong while the people trying to troll and start arguments aren't doing anything wrong at all. What is the main difference between me and these people? I dislike cancer. #YouTubeSupportsCancer
As a 16 year old I can confirm that this song is still loved by the younger generation.
First thing that popped into my head hearing about Dolly Parton today
Not everybody knows this but this entire song is quite literally a tribute to Buddy Holly and a message to tell the world how rock and roll changed since his death this whole song was written in a bar and it is probably the best piece of music composed in a very long time
