IrelandDeacon Blue are a Scottish pop band formed in Glasgow in 1985. Their name came from the title of the Steely Dan song "Deacon Blues". Success came for the band in 1989 when their second studio album, When The World Knows Your Name, topped the UK Album Charts. The album included "Real Gone Kid" which became their first UK top ten single. After releasing further albums in 1991 and 1993, they split up in 1994. Five years later, in 1999, the band held a reunion gig and this led to the album, Walking Back Home.

This was in the charts when I met my wife at 21, she was 19. Got married 6 years later, first daughter 3 yrs after that and still happily married with two very grown up daughters, happy times, sigh. I hope anybody reading this is as fortunate as me.
This was played at my sisters funeral the other day. I will play this song with it hitting a little different from now on. Rest in peace my beautiful angel, Elizabeth. Forever 39 💙💜💚💛🧡❤️
An absolute classic that sounds as refreshing to listen to in 2023 as the day of release
My mum passed away last week. Played this beautiful song at her funeral. Love you MUM. May you rest in forever peace❤
