This is the song I chose for my daddy's funeral last month. My eldest son and I were watching YouTube 3 months ago, and there are never YouTube music videos as commercials, and we always skip the commercials when possible. But for some reason, that day, this music video came on, and my dad had just been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. It immediately grabbed my attention and I knew that the song meant for him, and it was exactly everything he would say to his precious wife and our mother. As soon as I listened to the first few lines-and heard the word Paradise..I knew what the song was about. This scripture came to mind: "You keep track of my wandering. Do collect my tears in your skin bottle. Are they not recorded in your book?" Psalm 56:8 Yes, God keeps count of our tears. He sees us. Makes a way out. There will be a Paradise and soon. Such a lovely song.
The opening line was just what my husband said to me when I "saw" him shortly after he went to paradise. It went straight to my heart and yes I' m crying. After 13 years and still...thank you for such a tender beautiful song. So comforting.
